The Payoneer Freelancer Income Survey 2015

Surely you’ve heard from a friend or through the Internet the term freelancer. But, have you asked yourself who are actually freelancers, how they are different from other workers? Keyword freelancer freely translated should have meaning free associates for an online business, that is, the person who performs certain business tasks for a physical person, company or institution and that doing so is not employed by that employer.

What is the main advantage of freelancing is that freelancers independently organize their working hours and duties that will make during this time period. This means that a freelancer can work at any time of the day, from confort of his home, and even in theirr pajamas…

To deal with these “interest” it is necessary to have a computer, Internet access and knowledge in areas that are commonly found on various freelance sites. The most frequently mentioned knowledge include:

Given that the number of freelancers daily increasing, you really need to be an expert in certain branches of freelancing, so you can provide to end customers a complete and quality service. Setting and negotiating rates can often seem like one of the most complicated and intimidating parts of freelancing. Professionals must first understand the freelance economy in order to set a rate that is appropriate for their skills, education and experience.

Payoneer surveyed over 23,000 freelancers worldwide in order to determine the average hourly rates charged by freelancers based on several factors. We hope this survey will be of interest to freelance marketplaces, industry analysts and most of all to freelancers themselves. Utilize this survey to compare average hourly freelancing rates, better understand what drives competition, and find new ways to increase income. All survey results are presented in U.S. dollars.

Survey results are based on the responses of a total of 23,006 freelancers worldwide through an online questionnaire commissioned by Payoneer during November and December 2014. The analysis is based on all survey answers between $1 at the lowest hourly rate and $100 at the highest.
