The history of Android as the operating system is very interesting and has over the years passed major changes. It took many years of effort and knowledge to Android become the most popular operating system. Many think that the Cupcake was the first generation of Android, but it all started with Android 1.0.

Otherwise, the first commercially available Android devices were the HTC Dream and T-Mobile G1. 2009 will be remembered by Cupcake, Donut and Eclair systems, and 2012 is reserved for the 4.1 – 4.3 systems – Jelly Bean. Android 4.4. KitKat scored a nice success, but 2014 is emerging as a popular “Lollipop” – Android 5.0 and 5.1.

Android M is next operating system which should continue the successful series of Android. Otherwise, for those who do not know the company Android Inc. was founded in 2003. Its founders were – Andy Rubin, Nick Sears and Rich Miner. However, the team quickly ran out of money for further research and development, and it was acquired by Google.

2005 Android is becoming part of Google, and Google in 2007 officially patented Android. It is important to mention that the Android is originally based on the Linux kernel on which Google later made a certain number of changes. It is interesting that in the beginning there were two versions of Android – 1.0 Astro and 1.1.
